TwentyOne received an ÖGNI GOLD certificate
Vienna, 9 June 2020 – The new business quarter TwentyOne of real estate developer Anton Bondi de Antoni (Bondi Consult) has been awarded by ÖGNI (Austrian Sustainable Building Council) with its first GOLD-certificate for “Business quarters Version 2020”. The certificate was presented last Thursday.
Bondi Consult’s project TwentyOne was assessed by ÖGNI-consultant Michael Jelencsits, Drees & Sommer, based on the 2020 Version for Business quarters, at the end of April 2020. This is the first project to be assessed on the basis of the newest DGNB-standard in Austria with an ÖGNI-GOLD certificate. It served as a pilot project for the DNGB-standard to be adapted for Austria. Going forward, Drees & Sommer will support Bondi Consult in the planning and construction phases regarding certification and sustainability.
The pre-certificate was handed over by Peter Engert, managing director of ÖGNI, to Dominik Erne, commercial manager of Bondi Consult for project TwentyOne.
The project is situated in the heart of Vienna’s 21st district at Siemensstrasse 87-89 and 88 and is one of the few remaining large contiguous business areas of Vienna. The sites with a total area of approx. 50,000 sqms (after a partial sale of land) were initially partitioned into 6 plots. Accordingly, project TwentyOne consists of six hubs: Innovation, Service, Central, Student, Office and Hotel. The Service hub has already been sold by Bondi Consult.
Peter Engert:”The DNGB-system assesses the quality of projects on the basis of all aspects of sustainability during the whole life cycle of buildings. We are pleased to have Bondi Consult with its project TwentyOne as the trendsetter for business quarter certification of Version 2020 in Austria!”
Anton Bondi de Antoni:”Of course, sustainability is very important for our projects, not just a buzzword. We wanted to obtain business quarter certification from the start of the project and are designing and developing the project accordingly.”
